Leave A Legacy
Keeping the community for years to come.
If you are interested in making a significant gift to advance our mission, then a charitable bequest to our organization is available to you.
A bequest is one of the most popular and flexible ways that you can ensure great futures continue to start here through your will or trust. While leaving a lasting legacy, bequests also help lessen the burden of taxes on surviving family members and could result in additional estate tax savings. Plus, a bequest is generally a revocable gift, which means it can be changed or modified at any time and can be designated for general or specific purposes.
How do you make a bequest?
With the help of a trusted advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift be made to family, friends, or Community Boys & Girls Club of Wilmington as part of your estate plan.
If you are considering a bequest, but would like to ensure that your gift is used for a specific purpose, please let us know. We would be happy to work with you and your attorney to help you identify ways to give and meet your charitable objectives. We can also work with you and your attorney to craft language to accomplish your goals.
We are in the process of establishing our Heritage Club. The Heritage Club will be comprised of our most committed donors who have shown their support by making a planned or deferred gift to our organization.
Donors who include Community Boys & Girls Club of Wilmington in their estate plans through a planned gift will soon be eligible to become a member of the Heritage Club. The Heritage Club does not require any continuing obligations or dues but simply allows us to thank you and recognize you, if desired, for the plans you have made that will benefit our Club members for years to come.
Legacy gifts offer unique benefits to you as the donor and ensure you will enjoy tax and income benefits while giving future generations access to life-changing programs that help youth grow into their full potential. Please contact us about this potential opportunity.
If you are 70 ½ or older and looking for a way to help youth achieve their full potential, you may be interested in establishing an IRA Rollover to benefit the Community Boys & Girls Club of Wilmington.
An IRA Rollover allows people who meet the minimum age to reduce their taxable income by making a gift directly from their IRA.
When you set up an IRA Rollover, you can:
- Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to our organization;
- Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year;
- Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions;
- Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts; and
- Help further the work and mission of our organization.
Contact your IRA plan administrator to set up an IRA Rollover and have funds directly transferred to our organization. Be sure to contact us if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose. Please note that IRA Rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
